Second semester has started off with a kick for the incredible women of Alpha Phi. February has been a month of phenomenal achievements for our sisters working especially hard to meet their personal and educational goals. With spring approaching and days of warmth and sunshine, the rest of this spring semester is truly bound to be a blast!
❣❣❣❣Valentine’s Day Celebrations❣❣❣❣
***APHI Hearts You! ***
Our first invite of the semester in celebration of Cupid’s Day was such a success! Whether our girls brought a Valentine or a Galentine, this night was one for the books.
Upon arriving at the stunning venue in San Francisco, we were met by red and pink decorations in accordance with the theme, of course! A night of lively music, dancing, and laughter, the invite planned by our wonderful internal social committee will stay in our hearts forever.
The joy of our sisters and their dates was photographed not only by the successful photo booth, with people excitedly lined outside of it to take pictures, but also by the talented photographer, who managed to capture every priceless and candid moment throughout the night.
❥❥Oreo Pop Making❥❥:
Our first sisterhood event also occurred in February, when we made Valentine’s Day Oreo pops and watched a Valentine’s Day movie in the comfort of the Alpha Phi home. Times of pure bonding like these represent our sorority’s values of sisterhood. Alpha Phi really is one huge family that enjoys each other’s company. The Oreo pop event not only showcased love during Valentine’s day, but also demonstrated the care our sisters have for each other!
❥❥Leap Day Benefit Concert❥❥:
The Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi proudly supports the Alpha Phi Foundation, focused on the empowerment of women as generous members of a community. Our philanthropy events work to raise funds for programs dear to us that promote leadership skills, encourage academic brilliance, improve women’s heart health, and educate about the indispensability of philanthropy. This month, we partnered with the Kappa Alpha Order at UC Berkeley to host a “Leap Day” benefit concert where students volunteered to showcase their musical talents.
Sponsored by Snackpass, this afternoon involved food, music, and games. The turnout was spectacular as seen by the many men and women filling up all the seats excited to hear fellow students perform.
Special thank you to our very own sisters Antonia Sturiza and Riley McGlinchey for literally and figuratively bringing music to our ears! Events like these allow us to build better relationships with other chapters in our communities and constitute a vital part of our values at Alpha Phi.
Alpha Phi also worked with the Red Cross organization to host a blood drive! Throughout the month, our girls tabled on Sproul, promoting this
charitable cause and many even donated their own blood. Education and engagement allow us to achieve maximum success and impact. With our primary focus on supporting research and scholarship regarding women’s heart health, partnerships with renowned non-profits such as the Red Cross symbolize our commitment to causes close to our chapter. Alpha Phis are always finding new ways to support the Alpha Phi Foundation!
